Here is the email the recruiter sent with names redacted: " I work for a few specialized teams within Google Engineering. I was hoping to see if you would be interested in a brief, informal call within the coming weeks? It would be great to learn a bit more about you and your technical interests so that I can provide the most relevant engineering opportunities at Google, as well as be a long term resource for you in the future! If this is something you are open to, please let me know a couple times that work best for you to connect briefly. Hope you're doing well, and I look forward to hearing from you soon! All the best," Anyone seen one of these before? What should I expect here?
Leetcode. It’s phone interview time.
Always
Got such an email, deleted right away
Dont know what your question is. Havent you ever talked to any recruiter over phone yet? This email clearly states that the recruiter wants to talk to you, provide your availability. He/she will talk about the position they are hiring for, your background, interview process, salary compensation (not compulsory) and next steps if you are interested. Just take the call whenever you are free.
My question was "has anyone seen an email like this before." Thanks for the info. I was mainly wondering how common such an email from Google is. Not sure why you had to be condescending in your second sentence.
Sorry for that! But yes you are getting a good opportunity ahead. Talk to the recruiter and take some time before attempting the phone round. All the best!
I don't understand the post. This is typically how a potential interview opportunity starts. If you're not interested, ignore it. If you are, respond to it.
You’re hard because google reached out to you, now prep your ass off and nail the interview
Btw I got an email from Wayfair recruiter yesterday, here is the snippet. Open to Wayfair Boston? "If you have ever been curious or are looking for career growth & exciting challenges in engineering, Wayfair Boston is investing in growing their Engineering teams and we need people with backgrounds like yours! If you are interested in chatting more, feel free to message back with some available times to jump on a call. " Could you tell me what should I expect here.
OP - very common to get such emails. If you are interested in google, setup the call and take it from there. Remember that less than 1% of the folks that make it to this stage of initial phone call with recruiter ultimately get an offer.
Thank you! Exactly the kind of information I was looking for! I'm sorry I hurt everyone's ego by flexing like this...or...whatever?
The good news is if you are a SWE you most likely will at least move on to tech phone screen stage after recruiter screen.
1) yes I have seen this many times. 2) it is exactly what it sounds like, a chat with the recruiter to potentially get you started in the process of getting a job at google. You seem very sensitive, calling people out for being condescending etc. grow a thicker skin, it will benefit you.

Always on LinkedIn messages, they sent to like hundreds and filter out based on your expectations and their needs.
This was sent to my personal email.
Yes they get email addresses too, I got like those from doordash, Postmates, other startups signed by the founders lol
