Google team matching
I have been in the team matching phase before HC at youtube. I had a few interview a few weeks ago but they didn't work out. Should I ask the recruiter to transfer me to google mountain view for better team matchings? I think my background matches better with the Google Maps projects.
OP are you aiming for L3 or L4 and is this for a SWE position? I have been told headcount for L3 is pretty low in MTV and Seattle/Kirkland. My application was closed even though I passed HC because of the limited headcount and my first choice was Google Maps as well. Good luck with HC :)
Wow, so you passed HC and got a rejection because you didn’t find a team? That doesn’t make sense..
Sorry, I should clarify. I haven't received a rejection yet. I am just in waiting mode for more teams to open up
I’m in a similar situation for NYC. I passed hiring committee as L4 and have been stuck in team matching for over a month. I’ll probably end up taking a competing non-FANG offer.
If relocation is an option, I would look into Seattle/Kirkland. I was told there is enough headcount for L4 Engineers

Generally speaking, do you think if it's easier to find a match at mountain view? Or it's the same?
MTV of course has more teams than San Bruno. Hence it would be easier. But then the advantage is kind of reduced due to large number of candidates and lot of bad teams as well.
