Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of feedback on what kind of compensation I should be expecting in my offer from Google. Background: made it through HC and am currently in talks with recruiter about a role and compensation expectations. The role is based in NYC. More background: - currently a Sr. UX researcher with an established finance company. - 5 years of ux research experience - 11 years of total research experience (I was in market research before ux research) Is asking for $115k + $10k signing bonus + some amount of stock unreasonable? Would love to hear about similar compensation for my role. Thanks!
Wow that is new grad salary. I would ask for at least double
Double would be too high for level and experience.
You are thinking Fidelity New Hampshire salary versus Google New York. Living costs are higher but so are the salaries
I'm actually currently based in NYC... So I'm comparing apples to apples
Hi McG173, just out of curiosity, what was your other research experience? I am in the process of interviewing with Google, and I'm trying to get a ballpark figure of what the TC might be. I have 2 years of solid UX research experience, 6 months UX design experience, plus several years of research experience thanks to my 2 masters degrees (History and Info Studies). Curious to see if that would be taken into account.
You don't really ask, they make offer based on their formulas.
You'd be lowballing yourself with what you're asking.
I'd ask for at least 300K TC.
