I sent Google a redacted email from a competing offer, but they want it without redactions, including name of recruiter in the email. Can sharing that with Google be used against me somehow? I don’t want to lose the other offer
That's not right on Google's part, though you could redact the name of the recruiter and only show the org name in the email id. But anyway fuck Google
I sent them {redacted}@competingcompany.com, wasn’t enough
Tell them to take it or leave it. If they don’t believe you, then you’ll just take that offer. Call the bluff
Fuck google
wtf is wrong with google
Fuckers be doing illegal shit. Call it out.
I’d tell them to fuck off.
Wow- thats downright insulting! When did google stoop this low?
Just show the name of the company in the email. Like @apple.com. that's should suffice. Tell the recruiter, you are not in the liberty to provide PII information.
That’s what I did. They want the name
Well, that's an unfair practice. Basically, they don't trust you or your competing offer. Tell them you can't and this is all you can do. Be willing to walk away if they insist.
I would recommend you not to do that. You don’t act stupid because other party want you to 👍
You know what- get the email of head recruiter or india head of recruitment and cc them in the reply calling out this illegal and unprofessional behaviour.
Bad advice. Don’t go overboard and make people look bad in front of their superiors — doesn’t look good on you as a prospective hire. Just be firm and let them know that you’re not at liberty to share the recruiter name. At best, share the company name if you feel comfortable and leave it at that.
I agree with the not making people look bad, but this is a borderline compliance issue and a horrible first impression of the company for the prospective employee. But yeah, probably shouldn't be the first response. If the recruiter is adamant then this strategy could be used to escalate stuff as a measure of last resort cause then you would be sure that you can't trust the motive of the recruiter. Mostly it shouldn't come to that.

China CYBERATTACK on UK ? WTF
i would never do that and it’s a ridiculous and insulting request.
Yup. So call their bluff. You know what, this is disrespectful and after all you made me an offer based on my qualifications. I will be taking my talents elsewhere. The recruiter will scramble and apologize with an updated offer. Then you decide. Recruiter != Google representation.
