Any tips for negotiating comp for the move. FB gave their starting offer at 250k/1.5m/25% and Google is asking for a number from me but said bonus is 25%. FB said they will consider current comp and other offers, but Google said they can't consider current comp. Haven't mentioned current comp to any of them, but I am on old 10/20/30/40 at snap and in my last year with all 40% of L6 comp left.

Are we ready to buy our forever home?
Sounds about right.
Just curious - why are you leaving snap ? Looks like they are starting do well. What are your thoughts on Snap as a company and product. Thinking of interviewing there.
It sounds like you may not have to use current comp in negotiations with that strong first starting offer. And if they give you an offer and it’s not as good as your current comp, then so what. Tell them “you won’t even beat what I’m making now, byyeee”
Share your career progression for us? What are you working on, backend distribute systems? What do you spend your days doing mostly? And last question: do you have any special skill like video compression or anything like that?
No special skills, but can pick up stuff fast. Work on a mix of client and backend, have solid experience in both. Daily, 50% hardcore coding, and rest of the time a mix of code reviews, mentoring etc etc
Yoe? Have you been at google/Facebook before?
15yoe, FB before
😳
This is dead on. You won't be able to negotiate up really.
"Google said they can't consider current comp." Sounds like Google BS. What does that mean? "Sorry, we can't pay you what you already make." WTF?! 😁
This doesn't even sound like a problem 😂
