Google supported Kotlin to be it's first class citizen. In the meantime flutter was also introduced. While Google was busy in their shenanigans the mobile industry (outside of Google) was moving towards Rxjava where devs only knew a handful of methods to pretend to be Rxjava experts. Then came the dagger DI with it's immensely shitty documentation and lots of problems. And now comes flutter just to fuck with devs time. Honestly React seems more stable than whatever Google shows up with for the fact that FB doesn't keep on making disastrous changes every second to their platform and it's not hard to learn react native. But to put it all together with whatever Google comes out with, followed by the enormous amount of problems you run into, I'm honestly sick and tired of upgrading my self every second to support a mobile shitty app for less pay and all the extra hours of hardwork. Honestly, Is it worth it?
You remind me my old days when I decided to move from front end to back end. I bet, I am very glad I moved on👌
Tell me the secret of how I can into backend?
I would say start thinking of career as full stack and gradually move to back end. Good news is, language-wise it is fairly straightforward choice either java or python( you can do lot of other things too, e.g. scala, serverside scripting but let’s keep simple to start with...) You just need a patience to invest little time and wait little to see the fruits. But you will not repent 2-3 years down the line. Front end is really sh***y, and that space is occupied by lots of funky cool aid people who alway try every new language they hear in market without any depth or long term thoughts. It is not Google problem, it is the problem of these new jumping kids everywhere.
You know, you could just ignore these things and keep coding Java in Eclipse until flutter has matured (or not)?
“... to support a mobile shitty app for less pay and all the extra hours of hardwork.” Well that’s your problem... don’t work for a company making shitty app for less pay.
Really ??? I really don't think companies pay well for mobile... Or atleast I haven't seen any...
Maybe you should interview around. Easily make 300k TC at any big tech for mobile.
I must be old. You said a bunch of things I never heard of.
You guys are in a stable tech most probably.
I do backend at oci. Know only three things. Java and python. C# from my Microsoft days. C and cpp from my bachelor that I don’t count anymore. There. I am forty years old and that’s all I know. At least language wise.
