I’m not considering working there anymore. https://www.scribd.com/document/368688363/James-Damore-vs-Google-Class-Action-Lawsuit
Heres hoping Google's army of lawyers cant get them out of this one.
This makes uber look like high school to google university
Am I the only one who read this and whose opinion of working at Google increased as a result? If everyone were so enlightened as the majority of Google employees the United States would be a much better place.
I feel this is happening in many large tech companies in the Bay Area, not just Google
Not just the Bay Area. Everywhere.
You realize this is just one side of the story, deliberately painted to make Google look as bad as possible? I wouldn’t reflexively draw any conclusions
All you have to do is look at the evidence and then look at who got fired. The people who sent threats and harassment did not get fired. The victims did. Airbnb is almost or just as bad as this so it’s not difficult to draw conclusions.
Acting like the ones fired did nothing wrong is quite biased of you. He asserted there was a possibility his coworker was involved in terrorism. You piss off your co-workers you get fired. I do wish the guy who sent him a threat would have been fired. But it is a hr issue so no public information is available on what they did, if anything. The point being he is not an innocent victim. You say "the people who sent threats". Can you show me who else sent threats? I only saw one example of that by one person.
I personally have never encountered anything like this and don’t know anyone who has. People in my org are chill and apolitical. It’s a big company.
Shut it liar
People say it’s a company-wide thing but at least my reality is that there are still very, very few women and minorities here (in Eng). I have interacted with three women and zero minorities and I’ve been here two years. If this is a “deep company-wide problem” and not a vocal minority then why is it still this way? I’m not saying there isn’t a general bias but the whole “Goolag” and “I will never work here” stuff is overblown IMO.
Lately ive noticed leadership blatantly open about their political party affiliation. Its gotten to the point where it seems like people are trying to do some subtle (and not so subtle) social engineering.
Why do you people care about these stuff so much? You go for work so why can’t you just work focus on work and come back? Why do you have to bother about all these politics?
You must take your freedom forgranted. I came from a place where if you opposed to the party in power you were kidnapped. I am going to speak my mind because it's my duty as a citizen of this country
Well, because they are, you know, humans? Computer don’t do politics. humans do.
Based on this pig headed donkey? Cool.
Clearly you have no idea what is going on.
I've read his whining. That's all it is.
