Interviewed at Amazon and got the offer but the position is in Seattle and can’t relocate. There’s the possibility of finding another team in their NYC location but would I have to go through the interview process again for that?
Why did you interview for a job in a city where you cannot work? Yes you need to interview for the job you want. If you now decide you want a different job you have to interview for that separately.
Not necessarily. My org had a lot of openings and I asked a different location. In my case: it worked.
If I were to take the offer given to me, it would put me in the red financially compared to current position. I am truly interested in the position, it’s just it wouldn’t make sense money wise
If the job role is the same, say SDE then you might not interview again,
That would be ideal
I was offered a job that clearly stated/needed someone in Seattle. The hiring manager surprisingly let me stayed where I am and work remotely most of the time. But I have to say it doesn’t work at all, either you have to travel to Seattle every other week, or get left behind.
Candidates who have already passed interview loops can be rematched to other teams. Generally just requires recruiter finding an open req and you doing an info/sell call with manager.
useful
Good to know! There seems to be a bunch of AWS openings in NYC
Good luck 👍
Just ask recruiter. It’s literally his job to help you with these kind of questions
Or her job
