Hi, Currently, I’m in the very tough situation of my visa because I found my STEM OPT got rejected on USCIS website on Friday and also didnt get selected in 2020 H1B lottery. So I think the best option for me now is to relocate to other offices in other countries. Does any happen to have experience like this before? Or any suggestions for me? Really appreciate it.
Why did OPT get rejected?
Is it STEM extension, can you also share more details like your degree and your field of study etc.
This is most likely the problem. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2019/09/19/uscis-documents-reveal-the-sources-of-trump-h-1b-visa-restrictions/amp/
Did you talk to your manager about it? He should be able to help with relocation.
Move to Canada, London or India and come back on L1. What was the reason for reject? Can you appeal it in court?
Which university?
Thanks for the reply. I don’t know the exact reason because I didn’t get the physical mail yet. But I think the reason would be “not timely filed”. Long story short, I sent out all the documents two weeks earlier than the due date. However, I didn’t hear anything from USCIS. Even when I made several phone calls, they didn’t give me the receipt number. Until the due date, I got all the documents back and showed my check has a typo date. So they can’t cash it. So I immediately rewrote a correct check and sent back all the stuff. And USCIS received it just one day late. But please share the info how to relocate to other offices in other countries if anyone happen to have this kind of experience or know some colleagues that did it before. Thanks 🙏
Few ppl I know moved to Australia office and it was pretty easy to do that.
Do your team has any extended team in any offices around the world. If yes it is pretty easy, just talk to your manager. If not talk to your manager and he should be able to provide you options.
Is your work different from your field of study?
