I recently had 2 on sites for TPM role and got rejection from both, one of which was Amazon and other one was Uber. The recruiter reached out to me in both cases to say they had positive feedback but team has decided to move in different direction. What does this even mean, like you are giving positive feedback but also rejecting. I am kinda feeling hopeless and scared what if I don't get it anywhere. Amazon recruiter also mentioned that I could apply for other roles and dint have to wait since the feedback was positive and also they will scout some other TPM roles for me which might be good fit and reach back to me, but haven't heard back yet
If you want a job at amazon, be proactive. Go on the careers site and email 3-4 other tpm roles you are interested in. See where that goes
Like Infosys said, that’s boilerplate for they liked you but someone more impressive beat you out. Nothing you can really do in that instance, it’s naive to think you’d be the absolute best candidate to apply to every role, even if you’re objectively a really exceptional candidate. I wouldn’t expect the Amazon recruiter to reach out to you right away, it could be weeks or months before they have a role in the pipeline they think you’d be a good fit for.
You did nothing wrong, the team did not think you were a good fit. Does not mean no other team will want you. I had the same happen to me at amazon, a few weeks later landed a better role in a better team, which I turned down cause had already accepted a role in a different company.
In general, if a panel or committee all like you but would like to see other candidates just in case, it's most likely they'll pass on you.
That sounds like a nicer way of telling you that they found a better person, even though you were good enough.
