My work and home laptops are exactly the same. I grabbed the wrong one to take to an interview and I am 100% sure they looked at the sticker on the bottom (with my current employers name) while I was out of the room. The recruiter made some comment about how he had one guy come in without a computer because he didn’t have his own but really he was talking about me bringing my work laptop. So that’s a lesson learned for me and hopefully you too. be careful which the computer you take
uh what was the sticker on the bottom
The sticker had my current employers name on it
Not sure I understand..
I took my current employer laptop to an Interview
Who gives af. I’ve got an Amazon sticker on my personal laptop. Idk why a startup would change that.
It’s more like a “this is property of” sticker
lol what? that’s perfectly fine. do they expect you to be unemployed coming into an interview? most of your dev set up should be on your work laptop anyways.
They told you to bring your own laptop for the interview? That's wierd. Since when is that a thing? Sounds like you dodged a bullet for a company too stingy to buy some cheep ass interview notebooks.
It's more of a code on what you are comfortable with
this is pretty common. for my recent google onsite the recruiter specifically said I should bring my own laptop if I feel more comfortable coding on it
So what
Calm down buddy no one cares
He specifically mentioned it. They’re kind of cultish anyway, so it’s something they’d do
I’ve interviewed a lot of people. The laptop someone brings is not an issue.
?? who cares if they know your current employer
