So I work at Intel and I am in my mid 20s. So far, Intel has been a chill ride cause I get paid even though I barely work! :) . The cafe is packed until 10am with people "discussing" about work. Of course the pay is very bad. (The average salary for someone who got a MS and thats in my grade level is 89k lol according to Intel's released stat. ) . Of course because of culture, the the morale is low and there are full of old ppl that just want an easy life. So here goes the question, would you rather work for a company that gives shitty salary with great WLB or a company that has shitty WLB with great pay? Follow up: How low of a salary can you tolerate for a good WLB?
I think Microsoft is the perfect balance of wlb and pay
It’s not binary. I have high pay and high WLB :)
Bad WLB means I'm doing shit and learning stuff and growing myself. I prefer that anyday
How about bad WLB and bad pay...😂😂
Oh... You know about tmobile?
I have great WLB and awesome pay, but I am still not satisfied. Maybe we, human beings, will never be satisfied. Now I want great WLB, awesome pay AND awesome project.
Be thankful you get paid 😂
Bad WLF is temporary, when you have grown for a while in this situation, you will feel more comfortable and have more control over your work pace. But bad pay is not guaranteed to be fixed or controlled by yourself, it depends on the company business, the industry you are working in. So choosing to work in a tough but fast growing company is rewarding, not to say you are very young. You could get great WLB and great pay in a few years.
I disagree with a lot of the suggestions here. Don't waste your youth that's the most valuable thing you have. Prioritize good wlb.

The answer depends on different stages of life - if you are super young and can do kick ass work, prefer growth over WLB. After having a family and enough savings go to the other side and enjoy yourself.
@Coolbeanss knows what's up. Figure out what's right for you. The best advice I can give is regardless which way you decide, always pack a parachute and have an escape plan.
