I'd like to ask, what is the answer in other orgs? "Are leaders indexed on execution? Innovation? Vision? Communication? Politics?" Whats it like at F? G? Airbnb? Snap? Lyft? Amazon? Apple? Netflix? Older giants like MS/L? Oracle? Cisco? Yahoo? Is that a perceived problem only at the known few (Uber, Amazon) or pretty much everywhere?
Amazon personalities do well here
From my personal experience in Netflix there is no place for politics here and they really try to live by their culture. Although there is always a place for improvement but I m pretty happy with the straightforward feedback and actions taken here
to succeed at Uber you need to deliver on projects and not give a shit about anyone in the mean time.and you need to give up a lot of your social life and work life balance like all of the other leadership because most of them are going to make 5million plus after ipo.
Seems pretty fair I think. Mostly like many startups I've worked with. For many it's the single biggest opportunity in their life.
Definitely not on innovation, vision or execution.
it's funny because it's true
And it's amazing how this place can change people in a certain way. I have observed several seemingly good people from good, normal companies turn into the special kind of animal at Uber over a few short months.
