I have an upcoming meeting with Hiring Manager(done with the initial interviews and coding round) for a remote Application Engineer role in the Cloud & Customer Organization department. This role has support responsibilities as well as per the initial conversation. But the tech stack seems be good(ETL, CDC, Airflow, Hadoop, Kibana, Elastic Stack, AWS, BI). It is mentioned as an Entry level role with 3+ years or experience. I am a terrible negotiator and i am interested in the tech stack and want to move out of BI. So i feel like i should be prepared for TC negotiation. Any idea on the compensation i should be asking for or what might be their range? YOE : 4.9 Current TC : 125K(full cash,no rsu - working as a consultant, no benefits) Tech Stack : SQL, BI #guidewire #guidewirecompensation #guidewireinterview #cloud
Their stack is mostly Java, so prepare accordingly
Sounds like CDP tech stack. I don’t know the range but their engineering group pays well. Is it engineering or operation team?
It turned out to be a typical support role. No real coding opportunities or learning curve(as far as I am concerned). Some weekends support and escalating issues and analyzing logs and performance tuning. I had an interview with manager and he asked about SQL Server performance tuning questions. It is for the CASE team. I was fooled by the job description and title(Application Engineer)
That’s operation support team not engineering. Classic example of Ads vs Reality.
