#h1b #healthcare I interviewed with over 12 companies in the healthcare space (health insurance and health tech, no luck with Pharmaceutical companies either) over the past 2 years. I was given a categorical denial on any H-1B visa support (New application) in these companies. Is this the new normal? or is this temporary?

The only way is to try a cap-exempted healthcare employers to get the experience and then get GC through them. You won’t be able to transfer to a non cap-exempt. But outside a few companies, most won’t risk going after a candidate who require a fresh h1 as their budgets for immigration-related expenses are lower vs FAANG. Look at hospitals. Maybe Kaiser if you want more insurance-related

Fresh application or transfer?
Fresh application
Yeah fresh applications are tricky. The other day I learned that even the likes of Facebook don't go for fresh applications if the candidate has just one try remaining on OPT. Not surprised that companies are hesitant on new applications. Odds are stacked heavily against them.
