This reduces chances of h-1b people to switch jobs as the Transfer could take 5-7 months. However, employers are still interested in interviewing h-1bs for experienced hires. Are employers just to slow to realize this news? Or have they adapted their recruiting strategy? Pls post your interviewing experiences in this horrible h-1b environment here. Warning: Xenophobic trolls will be blocked. This is meant to be an informational and actionable post. Pls spread your hatred elsewhere
Indian’s entire lives revolves H1B visa. What a sad life
and then you’ll be a fucking loser dealing with lack of smartness around
Some don’t know about it - overall h1 is slowly being killed unfortunately
The few companies I applied to are aware about it,but ready to interview me since I’m ready to switch on receipt. This was made clear before scheduling onsite. Those companies are ready to take me in on receipt and support
Are any of those FAANG? Curious if they agreed only coz you agreed to join on receipt?
I heard that involves a risk if your h-1b gets denied or a RFE. Just curious how did you decide to proceed with that risk? I am in same shoes
Stop being a bitch you piece of shit
Hope USCIS makes good use of this time and make sure to shut down all the fake body shop consulting firms. Cancel all the fake consulting h1b visa and send back to their home country. Everyone is happy including genuine Desis.
Update: so far companies haven’t raised any alarms in interviewing process
If they are big, they might not care...if they are small, they don't know yet...
Update: 7 rounds with Apple and they got me to fill visa questionnaire. Said I am one of the finalists and then moved on with another finalist. I feel discriminated against because of my visa status. Moral of story: don’t disclose the specifics of your visa dates or greencard milestones until you get the offer. It will never work in your favor
Isn't it better to get rejected earlier than later? One unicorn giant asked me just before on site, hasn't given date yet after I filled the form. Now I know I won't waste time preparing for on site.
So u want companies to wait for you for months to join? Would you wait for a carpenter or similar worker for few months to get some work done?
@windo probably yeah. It’s good to disclose the info somewhere midway in the process. Saves a ton of interviewing effort. I wasted 2 months clearing their case studies, FaceTimes, onsites, group lunch and what not. Such a waste of time
Yup, exactly
