I could really use help and advice right now from fellow Blinders

I could really use some career advice. I'm early in my career, 1.5 yoe. My current project is not interesting to me and I'm starting to hit a learning plateau, despite taking on more responsibility. I talked to my manager and he agreed to try and find me a new project but he said it could be months because it depends on business needs.

I feel like my options are to chill out and wait for a new project, or try to branch out and find another job. I feel limited trying to find a new company because I'm in the Denver area and there are a small number of companies that can offer the pay and benefits that Qualcomm offers. Remote opportunities are available mainly for more senior level SWEs in the bigger name companies like Google, Meta, etc.

So here's where I need advice. I think junior devs are often over-eager when it comes to finding a new job, thinking it will magically make them better devs, when really they just need time in the industry to progress and learn. But that being said, I'm wary of complacency.

Should I be more patient and try to excel at Qualcomm even if I don't like what I'm doing?
Or should I keep looking for something new even if I only stay there a short while?
Should I want until I hit 2 years of experience?

My interests are mainly C/C++-based projects (kernel, graphics, camera technologies, embedded). I'm also really interested in large scale systems that need optimizations though I have no experience in that realm and very little idea of what these roles entail.

I'll take all the advice Blind is willing to give because I'm really struggling with this. 🙏
