Hi Guys, First off, for those who did not read my update on the other post, the published data is only for case decisions of the LCA stage of the process - so can't use those. After some research, the best thing I got is a published report by the top 30 employers for H1b Case decision by USCIS (this should be the final H1b statistics). Nevertheless, I reached out to USCIS for the full dataset, meanwhile, for those who need this, please see below: FYI: I don't have the raw data so I can't see what is excluded/included (E.g. not sure if USCIS included withdrawals in this calculation or full-time only?) one thing for sure that they did not specifically filter for H1b transfer cases. % of Denied in 2018 and sample size. - Cognizant Tech Solutions: 31.93% - 13,584 - Tata Consultancy: 17.79% - 10,656 - Infosys Limited: 26.24% - 8,088 - Deloitte Consulting llp: 24.77% - 6,362 - Capgemini America: 40.21% - 4,912 - Microsoft Corporation: 1.48% - 4,519 - Amazon Com Services: 1.52% - 4,460 - Wipro Limited: 17.78% - 3,831 - Accenture Llp: 16.83% - 3,630 - Apple Inc: 1.22% - 3,123 - Hcl America Inc: 20.93% - 2,910 - Tech Mahindra Americas Inc: 17.51% - 2,861 - Ernst&Young : 8.94% - 2,719 - Google Inc: 0.86% - 2,675 - Jpmorgan Chase&Co: 2.74% - 2,260 - Intel Corporation: 1.29% - 2,164 - Facebook Inc: 0.81% - 2,089 - Ibm India Private Limited: 17.74% - 1,962 - Cisco Systems Inc: 2.42% - 1,691 - Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited: 12.95% - 1,653 - L&T Technology Services Ltd: 11.59% - 1,311 - Mphasis Corporation: 15.40% - 1,286 - Syntel Inc: 17.42% - 1,257 - Wal-Mart Associates: 6.27% - 1,117 - Pricewaterhousecoopers Advisory: 21.90% - 1,105 - Ibm Corporation: 7.82% - 1,100 - MIndtree Limited: 17.05% - 1,097 - Amazon Corporate Llc: 4.31% - 1,020 - Cummins inc: 3.84% - 964 - Randstad Technologies Lp: 4.55% - 945 Published Link: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/Reports%20and%20Studies/Immigration%20Forms%20Data/BAHA/Top-30-H-1B-Employer-Table-FY-2018.pdf
Just to be clear are this H1B selects in lottery ? Or just applications. In either case top 3 are making fair chance look worse.if we can get data about how many of them have been actually used , I mean which of the accepted H1bs have been used for work tenure that would help to flag real misuse of lottery.
USCIS does not start evaluating applications unless the person gets the lottery (for new applications) - so this excludes all these unlucky people - my goal is to get the raw data and exclude all new h1b applications, I just want to see transfer odds so that people can safely join on receipt
Ohh great. Thanks for this effort. Also was wondering if there is any way that can check previous eveluated and granted one's which have been actually used for work. I ask this because few of my friends have been selected and granted but could never make it to use it or they use it just for few months. This is sheer waste for an opportunity for some one who is having full time presence here.
Thanks for sharing! I am waiting and NOT joining on receipt. It is to FAANG. I dont like this wait but looks like this is the only sane thing to do. What do you guys think? Better to just join on receipt?
I am most likely joining on receipt - for Google, it is 0.86% chance and I think I will take it - processing times now show 9.5 m to 12.5 m for CA center Also if it is to FAANG, they got other locations which you can work from temporarily while they refile/appeal in case of denial https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times
I would too , easily move to different locations and come back when/if things improve
why there are 2 amazon in the list?
They are legally separate entity - i think Amazon has about 30 different legal names in the dataset
Amazon retail, AWS are different entities for legal purposes. I see their credit reports all the time. Aws employees have better credit scores.
Awesome data!
Awesome. Let us know if you get the full dataset from uscis
Thanks for the post. Can you please post the % of denials for Mastercard. Thanks a lot
Unfortunately, that is the only data I have - I pulled those from the published report, not from the raw data. I emailed for the data but they pretty much ignored me
Hey Deeprocker - this is very helpful. I am also considering joining FB on receipt though BAL lawyers are advising against it. Why do you think it is important to get he filter for transfers? Vs new application? It appears to me that an H1 transfer is getting the same treatment as a new application - hence overall rejection rate is good. No? What would be nice to see is rejection rate by company and by job code - any chance you can get hold of that data?
That is strange my bal lawyer did not see any problem with me joining on receipt, maybe your case is special? Whats your background and positions?
It is a PM position. I am non CS engineering UG with an MBA. Currently not a Pm but was earlier a Pm with Amazon. They say that non CS raises risk. That said I think issue is the PM role itself since it tends to be generic. I’m still going to join on receipt I think as I like the position and don’t want to find another team 6-10 months later. Have to find how to mitigate the risk.
I dont think rejection rates are same for new vs transfer. For transfer i d assume its lower since u already proved once that u are qualified worker but again i dk for sure. I asked for raw data last week and noone replied to me at uscis
Is there any way we can ask USCIS a date for date? Meaning when they expect to open up premium processing for 2019 applications or when they plan to process them even in regular processing? Keeping silent without wven giving date for date is being very frustrating. I saw one blind post that said he heard back on 2019 jan application just via regular processing last week. I am also Jan but I did not hear. Super con fusing
I believe that you know about opening the Premium Processing for ALL H1B from March 12.
