Has anyone already received the H1B 2021 lottery results? When should we expect the results as per the new online registration process? #h1b #workvisa
Only closed physically. The lottery will happy online and everyone will come to know by 10th April
The USCIS site says that we should know on or before the 31st of March.
You are right. Uscis will inform the companies who applied by 31st March. And specifically for amazon, they will inform employees by 10th April
Yes, my friend’s lawyer just notified him that his name has been picked in the lottery.
Trolling
Hahaha okay. Whatever makes you feel good.
There's still time to get to know if you've been picked. At least till March 31.
USCIS has received enough electronic registrations during the initial period to reach the FY 2021 H-1B numerical allocations (H-1B cap). We randomly selected from among the registrations properly submitted. We intend to notify petitioners with selected registrations no later than March 31, 2020, that they are eligible to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for the beneficiary named in the applicable selected registration. Registrants’ online accounts will now show one of the following statuses for each registration (that is, for each beneficiary registered): Submitted: A registration status may continue to show “Submitted” after the initial selection process has been completed. “Submitted” registrations will remain in consideration for selection until the end of the fiscal year, at which point all registration statuses will be Selected, Not Selected, or Denied. Selected: Selected to file an FY 2021 H-1B cap-subject petition. Denied: A duplicate registration was submitted by the same registrant for the same beneficiary, or a payment method was declined and not reconciled. If denied as a duplicate registration, all registrations you submitted for this beneficiary for the fiscal year are invalid. Only petitioners with selected registrations may file H-1B cap-subject petitions for FY 2021, and only for the beneficiary in the applicable selected registration notice.
Are people seeing status update on their SEVP portal? Or when will it start updating in general, any idea? Thanks!
I am currently on stem-opt and this is my final attempt to h1b with opt expiring end of May. Does anyone know what would happen to cap-gap extension in this new H1B process, given USCIS is going to keep the status of initially not selected registrations as "submitted" to make sure all 85000 are filled before USCIS changes the registration status to "not selected" at the end of the year. Does that mean everyone gets cap-gap extension?
If not selected in that 85000 the you won’t get it right? Those whose petitions (like Indian consulting companies) are denied, they are gone in vain. They won’t be reassigned to someone else. But a good question indeed. I hope someone answers this.
Am not sure but this is what I understand. Let’s say out of the 85k selected, 10k were rejected for whatever reason after processing. They will then change the status of 10k more from the pile of “submitted” to “selected” and give them a chance.
Mine was picked and I received my notice of confirmation on the 26th of March. Not sure about the announcement deadlines
But I heard lottery was done on 27th March.
No, the announcement from USCIS came on the 27th

Isn't USCIS closed until mid April?
On March 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services temporarily suspended in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and Application Support Centers (ASCs) to help slow the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). USCIS offices will reopen on April 7 unless the public closures are extended further. Employees in these offices are continuing to perform mission-essential services that do not require face-to-face contact with the public. USCIS will continue to provide limited emergency services. Please call the Contact Center for assistance with emergency services.
