H1B Stamp before it expires

Hi all - I have a valid H1B stamp until September end and I also have my extension filed. I’m planning to visit India in June. Can I get myself stamped for the extension even though my current H1B not expired? #workvisa #h1b

  • No point in doing so, first of all you won’t get an appointment so soon and secondly you may be under the impression that if your extension stamp gets rejected you can use your older one- which won’t be the case as older one also stands cancelled if that happens .

    But you can use your old stamp with extension to travel- so why waste time, money and risk it?

    Visa appointments are basically impossible to get right now. Why bother trying to get one if you don't need it yet?
