Is the H1B salary database accurate online? Saw a couple and have been mildly surprised by what I've seen: https://h1bdata.info/ #workvisa #h1b #salarycomparison #salary
Only shows base pay which is like 1/4 of TC for many companies.
It's inaccurate in tech because of RSUs and finance because of bonuses. FWIW, the salary mentioned on the H1B needs to be the _minimum_ the person in question will make.
It's accurate Base Salary of all the big companies(doesn't include RSU and bonus or anything that's variable in nature and may or may not be paid ), have verified it to be accurate for a lot of the top American companies and probably , mostly less accurate in the case of sweatshops and consultancy firms.
It gives accurate base salaries
Not true at all. Many law firms only post lowest pay for that title at that company filed around that time.
I check my own salary data and it was accurate to the last dollar...I checked it for my colleagues too and it matched with what I’d heard
No its not true. lawyers just put base pay. They dont include bonuses or stocks
The website says that it pulls the data from LCA listings which typically include only your base compensation. RSU/ PSU stock compensation is not included as the dollar value can fluctuate by the time it reaches Employees. However those stock grants aren’t given by most consulting companies so for those that website shows highly accurate information.
It’s just base and even that is not necessarily accurate. The employer has to pay at least as much base as listed in the LCA. However, they can pay a lot more. My own base salary is under reported because the company procured a blanket LCA. I get paid more base than what my LCA shows. And let’s not even talk about Netflix, they under report intentionally.
There’s an other accurate website https://h1bverse.com for h1b data.
It is not accurate. They don't include RSUs or any sort of variable pay such as bonuses. Some law firms report exact base pay but most only take the lowest common denominator of salaries of that role. It's not accurate at all and should be taken with a pound of salt.
