H1B transfer, not so competent lawyer
I have 2 offers, one from a small company in VA (base pay 110) and another one is IBM NC(base pay 120k). I have to get out of MSFT due to low performance over last year. I accepted offer from both, just to be on safe side as my transfer petition might get rejected. The Company in VA filled H1B last week under premium processing. The IBM lawyer filled the LCA with System analyst role 10 days ago then withdraw it yesterday and filled another one with title Software Engineer, Applications. Before this lawyer asked me to add 7 YOE when I have only 4. I really don't trust her or IBM to not screw up and leave me in middle. I don't want to go to company in VA because 1. They made me an offer 1.5 year ago with pay of 92k but then found someone cheaper (a student on OPT for 80k) and rescinded the offer. Now they are offering me 110k. 2. Cost of living is higher, more traffic, less pay than IBM. 3. I am already settled here and IBM would be similar commute for me. I think H1B approval come first before IBM even applies for H1B. What are my options? Any idea about chances of IBM transfer approval?
Accepting offer from both? What kind of BS is this?
I wanted to go to IBM so kept company in VA as backup. They did rescind my offer after negotiating, collecting all documents for H1 transfer, filing LCA last year. It's a question of my survival right now.
A Lawyer is asking you to add fake experience? :/
Not explicitly. She said I need to show 7 years of experience when she already had my resume. To which I replied, I don't have 7 yoe.
