H1b stamping 221g blue slip given
Went for my h1 stamping (Moving from f1 to h1) . Had my interview on Oct 4th. Visa officer was like there is some SEVIS info missing. Happens frequently with F1 students. The visa officer infact told me i went to a good school . Have any of you guys faced this ? I am kind of stuck in India. @ Cisco Employees - How long before cisco terminates me ? I still have a lot of loan from my masters to payback, I need the USD!!!! Thanks
Just try to be calm, spend time with family and try to enjoy your stay in India. This is pretty common problem, it should be resolved in few weeks!
Get in touch with your manager and tell him you'd work from India until H1 is approved. 221gs have become common these days. It might take 4~8 weeks before your visa is approved. But it will be approved. Stay positive
Dude, stay in India and MIGA. There are wonderful companies in India, whats the f’ing need to be in US? Tell the Visa consular to shove it, don’t need no nonsense.
I got a 221g white slip,she started writing on it even before she started talking to me, Interview went well and she said impressive twice...at the end I got that paper ,handing it over she said “I don’t need anything from you,you don’t have to come for interview again just some admin process pending”. I checked the case status and case creation date was my OFC date,so my 221g was decided even before interview.. I got my passport in 3 days with visa. F1 to H1 full time in bay area from day 1 OPT. I just had my Visa interview in India a couple of hours ago and got a 221 g blue form. No idea why. The guy didn't even ask for my i797. My status is changing from F1 to h1b. I thought the interview went very well. Im wondering if it was my salary. My salary was different when H1b was filed. Got a sumptuous hike two weeks ago and I told the officer my current salary. Probably he thought I was lying.

In the same boat. Got 221g blue slip at Chennai consulate for F1 to h1. The officer said it's pretty routine and just some paperwork on their end and should be resolved in a week. Reading up online, found similar cases and all of them were asked the question "were you ever out of status on opt". I guess it's just some pending verification.
