I need some suggestions for my wife's career who is on H4 with me here in the Bay Area. Her EAD (work permit) is currently being processed and we expect it would take 2-6 months to get it. She also has a chance to pursue a STEM accredited MS degree in Information Management Systems from UC Berkeley fall 2021.
She was a Product Manager in India and has a total of 5 YOE. She is looking to continue her career in the same field here. We're in a bit of a dilemma between three things (please see poll).
What kind of long-term impact does something like MS IMS hold for product managers in Bay Area?
I was under the impression that MS is mostly just a convenient way to start a career in US. It also makes sense for someone trying to switch careers to another field. However in this case, given my wife already has relevant work experience (in India), we’re wondering if an MS is worth it.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
