H4 to H1B
I am on H1B in 8th year and have an approved i-140. If i wish to take a break, can I go on H4 and come back on H1B with a change of status later on? Do companies even hire people on H4 with approved i-140?
How is this done Can someone explain this better to me?
Apply for H1 to H4. Wait till petition is approved. Then resign. Take a break. Apply for H4 to H1 when you find a new job. You cannot start a new job until H4 to H1 petition is approved.

I believe status changes are pure dependent on the individual situations. I mean, when you want to move h1b to h4, your spouse should be in h1b. Always spouse has to be on h1b .
