Currently I do rudimentary ML modeling and build supporting glue/management code. This is for internal models built by myself and team. My biggest strengths are problem definition, discovery of viable approaches, and public speaking. Biggest weaknesses are time management and leetcode interviewing.

I'd like to work in an environment with more focus on the long term where I can work on quality things and learn from people more skilled. Looking to move away from environment of endlessly cramming for the next meeting. Neutral on ML and development, all parts of companies have interesting challenges.

Better pay wouldn't hurt either...

Skills:

- Training is in statistics, with industry teaching experience
- Coding skills learned on the job, and by no means good practices; learned what's bad the hard way, am our only quasi engineer and fully self taught
- Can read mathematical papers and am great at breaking down business problems
- Struggle with bridging theory in mathematical papers to implementation, no time to practice on the job
- Tech stack is basic (data I've worked with can't be moved freely), but I'm 110% for learning if had time to

You should be in an applied scientist kind of role that requires understanding business problems and using latest research to solve those, but is assisted by a developer to launch that solution in production. Several big tech companies have entry level roles just like that.
