Completed a full loop for principal SDE (L7) at Amazon and heard that the result was positive (inclined) and they are going to extend an offer.
I don't have the offer numbers yet (recruiter said HM is out next week - but she will work on the offer the week after) - the initial mentioned TC range was 500-600k (Remote/MCOL)

Question is should I accept this offer? I have a Meta E6/E7 loop coming up as well (leveling based on interview perf) -- obviously no guarantees that I pass Meta interview
hearing all kinds of Amazon horror stories on blind - sigh.
This would be a first major tech company for me ......

Current TC: 320k
YOE: 16

Amazon is a great opportunity. You’ll learn a lot in a short time frame.
Meta is good, but don’t know if it’s the right FAANG to start off with.

External E6s and 7s generally struggle at Meta. Not sure how external 7s do at Amazon.

I recommend talking to a few folks at both companies. DM me if you want to know about E6/7 at Meta
(I'm M2 at Meta. Yes, I am in a different ladder but I do support E6 and 7s)

At L7, you should be pretty much fine . There are good teams with sane WLB as well.

Ads is digital. Quite a well known domain as Google, Admobs have been doing it for years.

How bad can it be? You’re making double your current salary. If you get FB in time then idk

Thanks - that's good to hear .... I don't think I am the worst of any of the teams I've been a part of ... so likely that the blind posts are coming from a small minority

Fyi L7 still get piped. There’s principle engineers “disappearing” all the time. Just my 2 cents.

Cool - that sounds like you should actually be 10% more than SDE than the other way around !

Haha, well, not everyone sees the value in having a systems-oriented perspective involved in the development pipeline… sadly :(
