I am looking to transition from the federal government into the private sector. I have 8 years experience as a partner/vendor manager. Looking for referrals or insight on any opportunities to get an #interview to secure a new role!

I think your soft skills could transfer you into a TAM or b2b success management position.

I would say join linkedin, and enter your skills. Be precise in your work history and skills and take a look at what it matches you with.

A lot of companies take pride in hiring veterans. Also I know local workforce commissions offer free vocational consulting for veterans.

Your first step is envisioning what you want to do. The second step is outlining your skills and then brushing up your resume.

    You got this!!

Thanks for your response! I have been looking at a lot of program management positions, which I think my experience would translate to perfectly.

The only struggle I have found so far is actually securing an interview. I make sure to make sure my resume highlights the work I have done related to the position I am applying for, but I keep receiving automated rejection emails even though I meet or exceed all of the qualifications.

I will definitely keep pushing on and eventually I hope to secure an interview or two!

Hi buddy. You've been in your position for a while resumes have changed a great deal. I would revisit and make sure you are getting your point across without too much "filler".

      Keep at it!

  • Be okay with that fact that you might have to start over at the lowest level
