Out of the gate, I think Waymo will be big dog, Cruise little brother if GM doesn't fuck it up. Argo will be a fast follower and is particularly interesting to me because of their European foothold they'll have from their VW partnership, long term and geographically diverse testing, and lack of GM influence. I think Argo has intentionally been looking at being on a fast follower timeline for a very long while now, so theres even the chance that they might wind up being the tortoise in all of this.
In the end, who knows. It's literally never been done before. The market and tech is being made from whole cloth. The tech is supremely expensive, complex, & historic. We're still mostly hopeful at this point.
