Which is the better place to work? Please only vote if you work at with company. If you have any advice or comments that’d be awesome.
I'd take HPV over either
HPI is a LOT more stable than HPE... .. HPI apparently took away market share from Dell and now leading in sales for PCs overall. Dell beat HPE apparently in selling servers.
Only because they bought EMC. The Dell enterprise brands are hot garbage otherwise.
Make the question a Poll. Of the two would join HPI. Our value is hardware not software. So lots of cool firmware work if you are into that. Pay is blandly average.
Done!
HPI
HPE is pretty toxic, can't comment on the new HPI though.
What makes it so toxic?
Avoid both companies- but between the two HPI for sure.
HPE been trying to make living by many spin-offs and merger business but unsuccessful. Work culture is getting more and more toxic. Products are not selling to make the living. They keep decreasing the hiring standards so welcoming many low quality engineers. Management sucks. No Matter even if you are top performer in the team, almost no bonuses from last 3 years and very minimal salary increases. I would not recommend anyone to join.
Dang that sounds pretty bad
You are talking bulldust. In 2017 HPE paid no bonus, true, 2017 was hallmarked by retrenchment and necessary trimming down. 2018 was rebuild - In mid 2018 they made a discretionary pro-rata bonus and at end of the year paid 100% bonus.. So in effect 150% bonus potential last year. Top performers were well rewarded. 2019, HPE is now in a consolidation and growth period and doubling down on strategic investments (both acquisition and investment in growth). Undoubtedly HPE is in a battle for its life remaining relevant in a world where organisation's are over-pivoting to public cloud. HPE is best positioned for the swing back to Hybrid private/public IT models
Only thing keeping HPE relevant is the Aruba stuff. Otherwise they are a lost cause.
It is not even close. HPI is really innovative. HPE is buying other companies to stay competitive. No organic growth with tons of dysfunction. The book " the five dysfunctions of a team" was written about HPE. Sad but true
