How much does HR and other roles such as accounting make at top tech companies? What’s it like? And how do you get the job!? TC 160
Following this as I've just been put in HR at my company. This is outside the US so probably not relevant to OP, but in Tokyo we pay the equivalent of 3k to 3.5k USD per month.
A friend is a non technical recruiter for YouTube at YouTube hq. She makes 60-70k base with 40k rsus fresh out of college
By non technical I mean she mostly recruits finance/business dev roles
That's excellent, particularly the RSUs. It's not like the skills required to get that job are anywhere near what you need to earn a similar total as an engineer.
Technical recruiter TC = 180k

So hard being a women in tech industry
For finance roles, top tech companies usually poach from big-4 accounting firms or ibanks or other tech companies with similar complicities and seldom hire fresh graduates. Regarding the comp, it really depends on the position and previous experiences. For example, a big-4 senior manager with outstanding technical and management skills (usually 7-10 YOE) but not great at selling products can make $200k to $250k at Bayarea. The top tech firm has to offer higher TC like $300k+ to poach this group of people. Again, it depends on the roles and previous experiences and previous TC. Top tech firm will pay higher but seldom go to bidding war for finance roles.
