The point is, its not bringing in more Indians. People have already been here for more than a decade now. An Indian applying for GC in 2020 would get the GC at the same time as anyone else.
What difference would it make anyways. Currently mostly Indians are in GC with their H1B waiting indefinitely. After this other countries would wait for a little longer time to get GC on H1B. Everything else remains the same in economy with or without this bill. It doesn’t change the diversity or amount and kind of people in the country, they are already here and will be. what difference it would make to voters unless they put visa or border entry restrictions on per country cap. One major difference is if it gets passed companies won’t be able to take advantage of H1B situation (ready to work harder at smaller pay) thinking of them as slaves, eventually making them equally eligible as Americans for jobs. And ultimately fixing the issues with American jobs lost to consultancy companies.
Chinese wait period is 3-4 years
Fixed the comment. I don’t have idea about Chinese, though suspect it is longer than 4, but know for India which is 150 years waiting in EB2.
With current wait times for Indians, I will probably be retired by the time eb2 date progresses. This is very much needed.

It won’t help anyone... besides Indians. The effective yet practical solution is to count the family members of EB visas against Family Based visas. Is it not supposed to be that way?
Or make family members exempt.That would clear the backlog much quicker. Otherwise it now amounts to 1 million people !
Can’t just exempt. Each GC issued needs to be accounted against the total number set aside per year. Either EB, FB,DV or asylum. Can’t pluck it out of thin air.
I don't understand why people want a green card so bad. Just move to Canada. The rules of the games are rigged against you but just across the street there is another Casino with fairer odds. And you want to keep playing in the casino with bad odds just because eventually you can be paid more. Just go to Canada, take your payout (fast citizenship) then it opens a lot of doors. Why the hell do people line up for citizenship based taxation. A passport is just a travel document, and the Canadian one is better than the US one on ALL POINTS.
