Somehow I’ve never been able to ease my way out of workload even when I’m about to resign. I have accepted an offer and the new employer is currently filing for Visa transfer which may take 1-3 months. I’m not sure how to ease my WLB at my current place that I will be leaving ? There is a lot of work and I’m drowning in it and mostly working late and doing releases singlehandedly( Not at BlackRock ). Don’t want to burn bridges but don’t want to burnout before I leave as well 😒 Current TC - 160k New TC - 285k
Do the bare minimum. If a company lacks enough respect for you and your wlb, then fuck um. Make up a story about a sick loved one or something to explain the hit to your working hours and performance
It’s like they say they give work to people who do work .... which makes me the idiot who keeps working the most with the least pay
Get in at 9. 1 hour lunch break. Leave at 5 and turn off slack notifications until 9am the next day. And congrats on that thicc offer
Don’t stress about it. I know easier said than done. If you’re not already doing but start documenting things since you’re going to leave. It’s for your own good - because as soon as you give your notice, the KT is another headache you’ve to go through.
I’m one of the newest members in the team so I don’t think I’ll need to update/ create a lot of documents ( some ... for sure ) .... most of my work is coding and that’s all documented in gitlab lol
You can slack as long as they don’t put you on PIP😆
People have been slacking for a decade and never need PIPed 🙄
Congratulations. What is your skillset to grab such tc hike ? Any pointers for people ?
Are you mocking me buddy ? 😒 .... I see college graduated here with higher TCs than my new one 🙄 the only pointer in my case is that since I am an immigrant female I was paid way lesser than others ... thanks to NY laws of not having to disclose my current income when job hunting and level.fyi & blind that I realized how low balled I had been all these years
YoE? Don’t take it too easy, you still want to be known as the guy who got shit done when you leave
12 ..... I wouldn’t be posting this if I were capable of taking it too easy ... I just want to be not drowning 😓
Where are you headed for the tc increase? Also congrats, it's at least a nice bump
Microsoft... thanks .... still feel lowballed cause college grads get better sign on deals than I got 🥺
But also, it's good for the company and for you to have you thinking about what they'll do when you're gone... Consider teaching what you're doing to esp newer colleagues. You can maybe even tell your manager that there's a lot to do and ask him to designate someone to assist
I’m actually one of the newest members lol

I haven’t done shit today!
do what needs to get done. you don’t get to ease out of it - until the ducks are in a row you don’t mention this to anyone also: nice TC increase
I didn’t and I’m not going to until the visa transfer gets approved and I resign ...... and that’s why I’m not sure how to have my workload reduced Also .. thanks ... I guess it’s easy to go from low to medium level on TC scale
you don’t get your work reduced. you suck it up
