Looks like Amazon has stopped price matching within the return window, even if the other merchant is reputable. I guess they just want me to return their items and buy from somewhere else. WTF Amazon! Update: When I tried to return because better price could be found elsewhere, Amazon wanted to charge me $7.40 for return. The item however was also late, so that reason code allowed me to return for free.
Btw I think some credit cards also cover this cost if the price goes down after your purchase
I bought a router from Amazon and within a week, the price reduced by $15. Called customer care to price match it. They asked me to return the product and order again. But they charged me $7 for return shipping. They could have just given me a credit. Not a customer centric company anymore
The focus is now on profitability, not returning money to customers.
Some companies came along with automated scan your purchases and claim pricematch tools that kind of forced Amazon's hand.
They stopped doing price matching after those services came out that automatically request refunds for you after price drops.
Yep, amazon stopped selling products a year ago. Now they are just a dropshipping company selling low quality and arbitraged goods. Super sad. I used to love amazon but canceled my prime membership after a decade earlier this year.
Old news. Go ahead and return it, you'll have to pony up the shipping costs back.
It’s free shipping both ways buddy, unlesss you like paying for shipping
No free returns unless the product page says so, or you get an agent to waive the shipping fee.
