Has HireRight cost anyone a job?

Hi All,

Hope you're well. Currently going through a background check at Meta. Seen some terrible horror stories about HireRight. I've basically had to do all their work for them. At one point they said they couldn't verify my previous employer and this is in spite of the fact that I sent them a signed contract, pay stubs and tax info.

My question is: has anyone ever failed a HireRight background check and had their job offer rescinded? #hireright #meta #backgroundcheck

  • They’re pretty bad, took them a whole month at least + I had to send some docs.

So I think after a while they just give up and leave it to the prospective employer lol

They are horrible. In the process with Google, and it feels like if I wasn't so on top of it, they would have cost me the job by now.

They’re terrible. I’ve told Meta I won’t be filing my notice until the background check is done but they’re just taking SO long.

Don't like them either. They screwed up my education background check. Had to submit several documents and they still took a month. Much better experience with checkr

  • I don’t understand either why big companies use hireright. It is a scam shop with terrible service at its worst. It’s a shame.

Not sure why they call their people “researchers”. I mean what do they exactly research? I did 90% of work for them by sending docs again and again and chewing their food for them. They still got some things wrong in the end. The hiring companies seem to know about these issues and don’t really care about what these so called “researchers” think.
