My company (medium sized company, not MSFT anymore) just completely stopped interviewing industry candidate. We still get a few college grads, but it looks like we’re on hiring freeze.

I know Tech companies have been expanding like crazy over the past few years, at an unsustainable rate (headcount growing faster than revenue). Are we reaching the tail end of that hiring cycle? Are you guys experiencing the same thing at other companies?

I was thinking the same thing. Every company has hiring freeze or head count problem. Maybe the recession that was supposed to come in January is coming now.

Well IBM and Symantec are in the same boat getting disrupted by competitors. I would not infer that is somthing happening every where though.

Symantec has a hiring freeze in place but is not the industry, it's the fact that the board installed a new interim CEO that is here to cut to the bone and then more. I have have onsites with Google, Microsoft , and Twitch plus more coming down the pipeline once I pass the phone screens. If anything seems to be a candidate's market right now.
