Planning a week long trip during Christmas...ya can't help, that's when there are few holidays and kids school off too. Any tips on flight deals, stay, island? Would Costco package work or independent booking is better.... Airbnb or vrbo? Any useful tips pls
What does the Costco package entail?
Maui Vrbo - South Maui
Buy the Hawaii Revealed book (for the island you want to go to), by Andrew Doughty. It has awesome tips.
Cool..will check this out..thanks
Fair warning, many of the Big Island recommendations are not quite accurate in many cases, and some are simply deprecated due to numerous factors, not least of which is the recent sustained volcanic event from Kilauea.
Stay on the north shore on Oahu if you want to go to Oahu. way less chaotic than Waikiki and more beach and ‘hawaii’ feel
Planning kauai this time
Maui is the best. So much to do - road to Hana, mountain biking(with kids might be difficult), superb beaches. Omg can’t wait to go again!
OK...will do another time...this time it's kauai
Road to Hana is very difficult right now.
Just bought a Costco package a week ago for April '19, around $2.5k for two people in Maui for 6 days. Covers flights, hotel and car. I checked how much the trip would cost if I bought each piece individually and the Costco package was like $1000 cheaper, so they can be really good deals compared to buying everything individually
Thanks for the info...I think it's crazy costly in December...let me put the numbers once I book

Costco. No hassle experience. 1. Ensure your hotel package includes the views you looking for ( beach view) 2. Reserve tours in advance. Ensure tours include hotel pickups. 3. Buy & stock food, water from super markets with occasional dining out (saves $$$) 4. Rent a car & do day trip
