Has IG Reels suddenly improved?

Until a week ago, reels sucked for me. I’d get the same lame types of videos of generic things like skateboarders, skiers, motivational speakers, with generic music played over. I rarely had actual original content from actual people talking and stuff, like what tik tok has. Now, suddenly I’m getting lots of that content, along with video memes and others. Reels has become a lot more attractive and I now find myself turning to it as frequently as tik tok, maybe even more.

I’m curious if the algorithms just didn’t start serving me this more diverse content until now, or if reels has suddenly seen an increase in creators creating stuff. Has anyone else noticed this?
