what is your back up plan if you are laid off and not able to get a job in 60 days. what are your plans about going back to home country, mortgage, family etc
I mean what backup plan do we have? Law is clear- find job including USCIS filing and receipt within 60 days or GTFO! Anyways, we all definitely have savings to survive for 2 months.
And reciept? :O
What are you planning to do on debts like mortgages. Also seeing some corona virus bill proposal where they are requesting for extending status by an year (though i guess this is just for expiries)
Rent out home, move to Canada ( have a PR)
Are you considering moving to Canada in the short term before PR lapses
Yes, have spoken to my leadership. Was supposed to move soon but then corona happened. Planning to move in summer now.
Rent or sell the home. Go back to home country and settledown with the savings.
Find another job in 60 days or go to đźđł
If you get laid off, ask your company to keep you on payroll for the amount of time your severance would be, instead of paying you the lump sum. I work in immigration, and this is always what I try to urge my companies to do. The USCIS only looks at payroll records when determining the 60 day window, so if you are still receiving âpaystubsâ for that period of time, it will allow you to delay the 60 day window, and give you more time to find a new job
Go back home. Enough of this H1b drama . I would go home and live peacefully with my family.
Donât think the US has ever had these many number of H1Bs ever so yes in times like this they will be impacted. Unless your job is very stable be prepared to go back.
