Hello all, I had a Google onsite interview in the middle of Dec, still waiting for feedback. Is it true that rejection comes early? I emailed my recruiter on the same day, and got a reply back that I will get feedback ASAP. But it's been 18 days and still waiting for the feedback. The job was related to the UX design domain. #ux #google #feedback
Most likely due to the holidays. Recruiter should get back to you by next week.
You have to realize that for most of those 18 days, probably most of the people needed to make your hiring decision have been on vacation.
What’s the criteria of HC to reject? Interviewers are part of HC? Or it is a separate entity?
It's a separate entity. All interviewers' feedbacks are bundled along with your resume and are evaluated by HC.
Sweet! So if interviewers give positive feedback. Does this influence the HC decision?
Its due to the holidays. You will hear after jan 5th most probably
Okay heard back today from Google. Got rejected because my “visual representation style” didn’t impress them much. I emailed to recruiter and asked them to help me get it bit more specific where exactly they find the issue 1) in my deck, of design exercise or 2) my portfolio didn’t have that type of project which demonstrate the proper styling or 3) it was during the white-board design exercise. Let see what I get back from her.
Sorry to hear that!
That’s okay. A good experience!
Did you make it to the HC or they rejected you after on-site?

Rejection comes early only if your interview was so bad it’s not even being sent to hiring committee. Otherwise the recruiter has to wait on a hiring committee meeting, which likely hasn’t been happening over the holidays.
