This has been in my mind for a while but finally I can think of writing this. Now officially I have been a College Graduate for over a year now & have almost 2 years of industry experience. So based on my understanding not sure I might be thinking this to blame my inability to get my resume to the recruiters but I feel like the shortcoming I am facing while getting my resume through to big tech companies is either my degree from a small college or lack of 3-5 years of experience or being international who requires H1 Sponsorship or as majority of my experience has been at very small companies. Anyway recently I was able to crack the interview for Cap One as I was referred by a relative of mine but apparently this position isn’t actually what I was looking for in a Python developer role it might be because I more of a creative type working at a Fin-tech is just not for me its great pay but no satisfaction. Thats why I decided to write a post here and see if people from my industry can help me with any advice & if possible help me with a referral in the company they are cuurently working for as I want to work for companies where I can grow my skillset. If anyone is wondering my expertise is in Python & experienced with Django and AWS services. #referral #help #advice

The H1 sponsorship is a problem. You are not at a senior enough level to qualify for sponsorship.
At CapOne for Tech, you need to be applying Sr Manager or above for visa sponsorship. On the other hand, for Data Analyst, Business Analyst and Data Scientist job families, visa sponsorship starts at associate level. Levels: Associate -> Sr associate -> Principal Associate -> Manager -> Sr Manager -> Director -> and above
Resume. Colg name. Experience. Visa. All could be a problem getting interview. But I think the biggest problem is figuring out what u wanna do? Be a swe or do u wanna do something else? It's unclear from ur post.
Yes definitely want to be Software engineer but be able to interview for companies I apply for.
