Take it and look elsewhere once the shit is over, if it ever is within the next few years...

Microsoft dreamer6 Apr 20, 2020

What makes you think this could be remotely in the realm of lowball?

Intel Helpmeeeee OP Apr 20, 2020

Base pay? More in Intel Folsom as compared to location.

Microsoft dreamer6 Apr 20, 2020

What about stocks that Intel offers? What's the annual bonus percentage at Intel? A CEO could be making 80k in base and 10M in stock each year. Singular comparisons aren't fruitful any which way. If this is the first offer you should definitely negotiate, not because you've been remotely lowballed, but because first offers and generally not final offers.

Microsoft jaWS38 Apr 20, 2020

this is standard university hire salary.

Intel Helpmeeeee OP Apr 20, 2020

Any luck or pointers on how to negotiate?

Microsoft hisky Apr 30, 2020

Need a strong compete offer to negotiate.

Coherent Logix Alpha_7 Apr 20, 2020

What will you be doing?

Microsoft Frcx75 Apr 22, 2020

For a university hire this is a solid offer. Intel will pay significantly less. Given the climate were in I’d take it in a heartbeat. There’s other hardware roles in the area now where you can jump ship if you’re unhappy after a couple years.

Intel Helpmeeeee OP Apr 22, 2020

I got a bump in Payraise from lvl 59 to 60.

Agree w/ everyone else, curious why you think $260K TC is a lowball offer for 0 YOE?

Microsoft dreamer6 Apr 22, 2020

$260k? That isn't remotely close to his TC.

HPE k o t l In Apr 24, 2020

That number coming from someone in Finance. Oh my 🤷‍♂️

Intel Helpmeeeee OP Apr 22, 2020

160k is TC

Why not list your Intel offer as well?

Google McSwaggins Apr 26, 2020

Probably cos the base is higher but other components are lower.
