Around 3 years experience in Bay Area. LinkedIn offered Sr title and 40k more than Google. Very good team, work and manager. Google gave me L3 and cannot match what LinkedIn is offering bc of L3 band. Not thrilled about team (ads) but good manager and high impact team. I’m leaning toward LinkedIn but Google brand carries a lot of weight on resume. Also, hate the idea of having to go through Googles interview process again after 12 months. Thoughts?

True about google. You could ask for an extra design round and see if they’re willing to offer L4. Only if you want to give it a try. Else it’ll be great to join as a senior at LinkedIn.
Both will be a great resume builder! I would go LinkedIn since they pay more and you like the team and manager. If it doesn’t work out, try to go back to Google at a higher band
That’s the thinking as well. Don’t leave money on the table and reapply for lateral move or slight bump in future.
Agree, especially when Google’s match team isn’t too exciting for you. Living in Bay Area, money is king.

I'm guessing that Google ads has like 1000 people... The critical path is much narrower than that

I interviewed with linkedIn last Thursday. Two rounds of coding interview in total. Problems of both rounds were like Leetcode but they made change. All of the problems were medium difficulty level. Good luck.
Titles don't mean much since they don't mean the same in every company. Both are great names to have on your resume, I'd look for where you can grow the most both in short and long term career. 40k is unlikely to matter a lot down the road.

Google nowadays don’t pay well compare to other good companies plus down level all the time. They spend money on new buildings, perks and free meal, not employee.
I think Google still pays top $$$$. I’m just stuck within a salary band bc of HC leveling. Even with competing offer there isn’t much more G can do.
Google pay top dollar to key high end engineer like l6, but l4 l5 have chances to be tech lead in other companies which they value a lot and throw dollars to.
LinkedIn obviously. Google is not special anymore.
Don’t assume your manager is going to stay... Does that help? LI is a great company, despite being Microsoft:)
That would nullify both LI and G managers. I guess the question is then, what value do I place on LinkedIn team and work vs Google as a brand?
