Have an offer from a local startup in Singapore. base - 180k SGD bonus - 20% options - 400k USD spread over 4 years with potential to go higher or bust 😂 In my current job though, I have 195k SGD base, upto 25% bonus, around 20-30k USD in stocks every year (200k USD unvested so far that I’ll have to give up if i leave). Current job also has offered a promotion to stay back with a 25% bump on the base. The work in the new start up is super exciting and at a Director/VP level. Current job while very cushy is a little boring and I don’t feel like I’m growing professionally. YOE - 10 would love to hear thoughts from folks who may have made such a switch before (corporate to startup) update: I’m on the business side of things, not an SWE
To exercise those options you have to come up with 400k usd.
No. The strike price is lower, and if I do hang around till exit the strike price is deducted and then the rest is paid out. Only if I leave early will I have to cough up money to buy.
Good deal
Whats your current role and whats new role?
Similar in both. Sales/Acc. Management
There's not much difference in base pay Its upto you which one excites you more Follow 10x rule Think if you make any decision how its gonna affect next 10 minutes, 10 days, 10 weeks, 10 months, 10 year
