I have a job offer from Yelp... 255 TC => 155k base + 200k rsu + 40k sign-on + 10k relo. 5+ YoE. Is this good enough for the Bay? I'm coming from a $180k base salary in LA, so I'm not used to such a low base. I haven't crunched out the numbers completely, but it looks like I couldn't afford anything more than 500 sq ft in the city. I also have a mortgage in LA, but I will be renting it out and possibly getting back a profit of $400/mo. Should I stay in LA or chase after TC in the Bay?
U can easily afford a 760 sq Ft one bedroom. Unless u mean buy a condo
I could but I would be paying $3600/mo. That’s already more than half of what I would pocket per month.
Nah don't accept it. I had a similar offer and rejected outright. You would be paying at least 3k on one bedroom apartment and that's just the starting price
I don't get it. $3k/month is only $36k aYear and this raise is $75k.
OP included their one time sinon bonus and reallocation bonus, really it's just 20k more, and it's taking a risk of moving to a new place
Not worth TC wise as it seems from your post. But SF has many more opportunities if you’re in tech and wish to continue looking.
