I have the following offers. I would like some help in deciding the one to join. Salesforce: Level: Senior Software Engineer Base: 180k Stock: 125k over 4 years Bonus: 15% Sign On: 25k Location: San Francisco Google: Level: L3 Base: 140k Stock: 230k over 4 years Bonus: 15% Sign On: 25k Location: Sunnyvale (Google Cloud) Uber: Level: L4 Base: 155k Stock: 350k over 4 years Bonus: 15k to 30k based on performance Location: Palo Alto Can you please help me decide which one to take. 2.5 yoe.
Avoid Uber as much as you can. The stock comp is not real/ grossly inflated, and crazy, disorganized reorgs are still happening across many teams.
They said they will take the average of the first 2 months of the stock price after joining and then decide the number of stocks I get for 350k. And that number of stock will be given for 4 years. The team I will be joining is Hadoop HDFS team. Do you still think it's not worth it compared to Google offer?
The 'H' in HDFS stands for Hadoop
That Salesforce base comp and 15% bonus makes it your highest TC offer. I wouldn't overlook that.
TC should include stock vesting each year. So no, Salesforce is not the highest tc.
When did you pass product match for google?
I see all the votes leaning towards Google and Uber but I'd personally prefer Salesforce. That base pay is too good to look over. Uber is unstable compared to the other 2 even though it's possible that the 350k might become 700k in 4 years or 100k. Google stocks are cool but that base pay from Salesforce covers up the distance between Google and Salesforce stocks.
Does Salesforce have refreshers?
Yes, refreshers are rare. Only awarded to the very best performers. Don't count on refreshers. Google on the hand offers refreshers every year. If you can negotiate the base with google you should definitely go to google over uber and salesforce.
