Trying to clarify my situation. I will be traveling to india soon and my h1b visa stamp is valid till sep 2022.
However i have changed my employer recently. I have the approved i-797 but wondering
- just because my h1b visa stamp has old employer printed, do i need a new stamp?
- if not then is there a 6month or more type condition which requires me to get visa stamped? Ex- traveling in may and return in june but from jun to sep is 4 months validity of visa stamp?

Interestingโ€ฆ H1B is tied to an employer. If you are no longer with that employer, not sure if itโ€™s right move to travel back on ex-employer visa. But not sure how CBP will know if you switched companies or not at port of entry, though ๐Ÿ™‚

Thr are two different things here. One is approved i797 another is stamp on the visa. Show the new petition to CBP along with the pay receipt . That should be enough
