Looking to move around, but stay within the city. There are a few big names in the area like Apple, Salesforce, Nvidia, Intel (lol), and Amazon. I’m curious to see what smaller corporations exist here that still pay top dollar.
There is Ebay as well. May be able to match few you mentioned
There is an Airbnb eng office in Portland- it’s pretty small though.
Decent work life balance? Every time I’ve looked for job postings nothing shows up.
Great work life balance, although the team only does CX (customer experience tooling). Most of the employees on the team are ex-Google or Facebook (from what I’ve seen). I actually used to work at New Relic btw!
High paying job + work life balance ... any concern for the type of work you do? Impact on customers? Kate Brown and Ted Wheeler are hiring, you sound like a great candidate for a public sector tech job.
How do you define top dollar? I'm fairly certain Intel does not.
Good question. I guess it’s all relative. For Portland i figure a base compensation ~125k for mid level, ~137k for beginning of senior. At least that’s the pay scale at the current gig. Agreed intel does not, thus the lol at the end. They are a big name though.
Fair enough. What about stock, etc? What TC are you targeting? When applying for jobs I noticed that many traditional hardware companies have caught up in terms of base salary but still are up to 10x lower in terms of RSUs.
