Just curious what the top paying positions in Hardware are. EDIT: I am also looking for breakdown by specialization. Such as Analog designer versus digital versus mixed signals... or are they all the same?

is google hw eng having lower ball than google swe? by how much?
Yea their balls are indeed lower. Almost touching the ground
u r right due to heavy weight
how does NASA pay
Which companies are best ?
I would think SVP of hardware
As a general rule of thumb, for the same level HW ~ 0.9xSW w.r.t base/bonus, and 0.5-0.7x w.r.t RSU. For SW, see levels.fyi, and you can calculate HW. If you’re talking about higher positions like distinguished engineers, etc., then it’s an entire different story.
Not sure if I see any hardware data on level.fyi, am I missing something? Please help, very interested in this info.
I am referring to say an analog designer versus a digital designer.I am kind of looking for the breakdown of pay for the types of specialization. Your answer is still very useful

Apparently optical engineers are very sought after. Is that hw?
Any HW position at a top tier SW company
Unfortunately true if TC is the main factor
This, I am in firmware which isn't quite hw but pays worse than pure swe. My experience is sw company wanting to build HW pays better than HW centric companies.
