[off topic] I have 2 friends whose wives don't work and keep posting on FB / Instagram photos of their day to day multiple times a day. My rational side tells me to just mind my own business, but I started to wonder that their husbands are just an SDE like me (meaning, we're not crazy rich), and I personally can't afford my wife to not earn a salary, and at the same time show off the latest fashion clothes or bi monthly international travels. What you guys think? I'm okay with "mind your business" responses, but am I crazy? Thanks P.s.: I would normally ask this question in Reddit but I know it's controversial and wanted to know what the tech community thinks
Simple solution - Stop looking at friends wives Facebook post.
I'll do that
Why not? SDE salaries are enough to support that life style. People live with far less. Although I would not let my wife live like that, I guess some husbands are walking wallets and have 0 power.
“Let me wife live like that”. You know women are people too? You cannot control them... it’s messed up you think like that
You know men are people too? All I'm saying is I would not allow my wife to take advantage of me like that. How is it messed up that any person would not want to be in such a lopsided marriage? Some people take feminism way too far. Don't assume it's a sexist thing. Man or woman IDGAF. I get just as iterate when I hear stories of men not working, mooching off their wives, playing video games at home all day. Don't make this a sexist thing.
Oh I forgot to mention - one of these 2 friends complains he works his ass off while she is just spending. Anyway none of my business. I should just unfollow her
Lol be sure that she has a huge amount of orbiters. Poor husband s
May be they don’t save at all. Bi-monthly international vacations sound a bit much.
I didn't dare ask if it was twice a month or every two months 🤔
Many people try to make money by posting content on social media.
Are they Chinese?
Indian?
Just get off Facebook, it's toxic.
debt. it's the American way
So you should be home
